                               OpenOffice 1.1
   OpenOffice.org is the cross-platform, Open Source version of Sun's
   StarOffice productivity suite of applications. After months of testing,
   improvement, and waiting, OpenOffice.org 1.1 is here for you to download.
   It is final, finished, and ready to be used. Available in English right
   now; different languages will be ready shortly.

   Please join us on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 for an unveiling of the
   1.1 version by Sam Hiser of the OpenOffice.Org Marketing Project. Sam
   will give a demonstration of as many new features as time allows, and
   answer your questions about this significant new release of the office
   suite that actually makes you and your business more productive, without
   draining your wallet. Because it is Open Source and responsive to its
   user community, features you use can never be removed without recourse,
   and you cannot be locked-in to a never ending cycle of upgrades of
   negligible value.

   Version 1.1 has many new features that are not available in any other
   office suite. Highlights of the current feature set include:

     * Word processor
     * Spreadsheet
     * Presentations
     * Drawings
     * Database connectivity
     * Microsoft Office compatibility
     * One-click PDF creation
     * Macromedia Flash presentation creation
     * Accessibility
     * Multiple-language support
     * OpenOffice.org XML file format
     * Compatibility with StarOffice 7
     * Macro recorder
     * Add-on framework and deployment tools
     * XML filtering
     * ActiveX plugin for Windows
     * Support for DocBook and PDA document formats
     * MySQL integration
   Download the application, and tell others about it. It is free,
   runs on every major platform, and is being progressively translated
   to every major language.

   Then, please join us after the meeting for Stammtisch, where you can
   discuss with others how you use, or hope to use OpenOffice.org to
   save time and money.
