speaker is expected to take about an hour, but we have the room until 9:00

TOPIC

	An Introduction to Kerberos 5

	Kerberos is perhaps the most widely used cryptographic security
	protocol in the world, and is available on almost all UNIX
	platforms, Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows XP.

	The talk will provide a brief introduction to Kerberos 5,
	covering the basic operation of Kerberos 5 from the perspective
	of an administrator.  We shall discuss the interoperability of
	these different implementations.

	750 7th Avenue (between 49th and 50th)
	4th Floor Auditorium
	Manhattan

	You enter the building on 7th Avenue.  You can't miss the building
        as there is a huge, lit sign displaying the number 750.  Go to the
        desk at the back of the lobby to receive a building pass, and
	have a photo id with you.  Take the elevators to the 4th floor.
	The auditorium is at the back of the 4th floor.  Complimentary
	pizza and sodas will be provided.


RSVP

	Please RSVP by sending an e-mail to rsvp at nysa.org with a subject
	line of "AUTO RSVP NYSA firstname lastname".  The RSVP list will
	be given to building security.  If yo do not RSVP, you will not be
	able to attend this event.  Please RSVP no later than April 6th.


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

	The N,R and W lines' 49th street station is in the 750 7th Avenue
	building.  You will need to walk outside to the building entrance
	on 7th Avenue, though.  The 1 and 9 lines can be taken to the
	50th street station which is a very short walk to 750 7th Avenue.
	A large number of buses will also get you there including the
	6, 7, 10, 20, 27, 50 and 104.


SPEAKER

	Roland Dowdeswell is a Managing Partner in Metzger, Dowdeswell
	& Co., and is one of the developers of the NetBSD Operating System
	(http://www.netbsd.org/). He was a Founder of the network security
	and automated configuration company Ponte, Inc.
	(http://www.ponte.com/).  He received his BSc in Mathematics from
	Indiana University and studied graduate mathematics at Cambridge.
